Currently, Call of the Sea operates the 82 foot schooner Seaward as a platform for experiential, environmental education for Bay Area youth. The vessel is U.S. Coast Guard inspected and certified to carry passengers. The trained crew of mariners and educators engage students by guiding hand-on activities, using navigational charts, microscopes, plankton nets, and various water sampling tools to support a wide range of curriculum needs.
Call of the Sea is proud to announce the near completion of 132 foot brigantine Matthew Turner. Once complete, the educational tall ship will increase on-the-water education programs for an additional 10,000+ youth annually. She too will serve as an experiential education platform for youth and the public, sailing the Bay, along the California coast, and on ocean expeditions.
