Call of the Sea partners with corporations, foundations, and agencies to provide life changing experiences for thousands of youth every year.

CORPORATIONS

Demonstrate your company as a socially responsible leader in philanthropic giving by providing Call of the Sea with crucial support including: grants, employee matching, workplace giving, products or services, and coordinating volunteer opportunities with your team.

FOUNDATIONS

Foundation partners are crucial for underwriting programs for school and organizations that are underfunded. Foundations are also instrumental for funding the final stages of construction for the Brigantine Matthew Turner to provide the San Francisco Bay Area with its first traditional educational tall ship.

AGENCIES

Call of the Sea partners with many agencies to provide essential environmental education program under sail to their local communities. One example is providing grants for services to serve the educational mission of local cities, parks, museums, etc.

Bay Model Visitor Center, US Army Corps of Engineers

Call of the Sea’s vessels are docked at the US Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Pier in Sausalito. The Corps’ Bay Model, adjacent to the pier, is a hydraulic scale model of San Francisco Bay, now used as an educational display for the public. This invaluable teaching tool accompanies Call of the Sea’s educational program. We encourage schools, families and visiting sailors to take a stroll through their informative exhibits and visitor center.

FLOW

For the Love of Water and Wildlife, or FLOW, is a San Francisco Bay Area alliance for water, wildlife, connection and caring. This collaboration between the US Army Corps of Engineers’ Bay Model, Bay Ecotarium, SeaTrek, Sausalito Community Boating Center, and Call of the Sea aims to provide our community with an opportunity to build knowledge, love and compassion for our local environment by forming an experience hub. Located at the Bay Model, together we connect our own independently successful programs via multi-touch packages, events and camp experiences. We are all committed to delivering programs that enhance and inspire people’s lives in and around the Bay through providing on-water, on-land and online nature education and recreation experiences.

The mission of Tall Ships America is to encourage character building through sail training, promote sail training to the North American public, and support education under sail. Founded in 1973, Tall Ships America is a non-profit organization commended by Congress as The National Sail Training Organization representing the United States. Call of the Sea has been a member of Tall Ships America for many years.

Located in Monterey Bay, California, Camp SEA Lab is a non-profit organization that offers outdoor school and summer camp programs to educate and inspire the next generation of ocean stewards. During the summer, Camp SEA Lab partners with Call of the Sea to offer week-long sailing voyages to teens. These voyages are a chance to combine Camp SEA Lab’s marine science expertise and focus with Call of the Sea’s unique ocean education platform- the beautiful Schooner Seaward. “We use the boat as a scientific tool- exploring the differences we see along our voyage with daily sampling, observations and place-based lessons. Our partnership allows campers to come away with a deeper understanding of the ocean and the California coastline, gain confidence and skills to sail an 82-foot schooner, and enjoy the adventure.”

Performing Stars transforms the lives of low-income, primarily multicultural, children throughout Marin County by using enrichment programs to build pride, character, discipline and self-esteem. Our programs help youth develop good work habits and positive social skills, enhance academic performance and professional readiness, improve critical thinking and communication skills, and gain the confidence they need to overcome the limitations imposed by poverty.

“Bringing teams together to learn about the SF Bay ecosystem provides natural opportunities to form stronger human connections and encourages stewardship and community.  The FLOW experience is inclusive, informative and inspirational.  Thanks to the partner organizations for adding enriching and engaging experiences to our programs.”    Charlie White, Founder and President, Move Mountains
