Be the Change had the incredible opportunity to partner with Call of the Sea in a service exchange—facilitating a skill-building session on culturally responsive youth development in exchange for a day aboard the Matthew Turner. My son wanted to gift his teachers an appreciation experience to close out the school year, and what a gift it was!

The day was simply magnificent. The Call of the Sea staff was generous with their time, knowledge, and spirit, creating a welcoming and enriching experience for all of us. San Francisco never looked more breathtaking than from the water, and the chance to step away, breathe in the fresh air, and share this moment in good company was truly special.

Grateful for this partnership and the work Call of the Sea does to make meaningful experiences accessible. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for connection, adventure, and a deeper appreciation of our Bay.

I am glad Call of the Sea partnered with my mom’s organization, Be the Change, to do diversity, equity and inclusion groups. My mom told me the group was super fun and kind. 

On the day of the excursion, I met some of the few my mom talked about. They were so kind to us. I wish we had more time with them.

The purpose of this excursion was to appreciate my La Scuola teachers for supporting me. It was so amazing sailing with my friends and teachers. 

I didn’t realize SF could be so clear, lol. There was actually no fog. I think everyone should  consider gifting their teachers the Call of the Sea experience.
