Charlie grew up where there were no boats, in Redding, CA, on a ranch. Attending both Cal Poly and Cal Maritime, he proceeded to work as an engineer on boats, as an administrator, and as a Director of Engineering for various fleets before starting his own company 30 years ago where he has done management of vessel operations, maintenance, repairs, training and design/construction of over 60 vessels including the fastest ship in the Navy. Charlie has an engineering degree, was a lieutenant in the US Navy, and is a USCG licensed Chief Engineer with over 50 years experience. He has been working since the beginning of the project on the mechanical system’s design and coordination on Matthew Turner.

Charlie says what he has learned from volunteering on Matthew Turner is “what great and interesting people are involved”.
