On Labor Day, Monday September 7, 2020, Matthew Turner will participate in the Heart Above San Francisco Event. At 3:00 pm, a skywriting plane will draw a mile-high Heart above the Golden Gate Bridge. Large and small vessels, flying hearts, and flowers will sail the Bay. Matthew Turner will join the parade, view the skywriting, then enjoy a sail afterwards with 25 passengers plus crew. A live-streamed, audio-visual program will accompany the event and will be accessible to anyone in the Bay Area.
The Heart is offered to the San Francisco Bay Area as a reminder, especially in the midst of a challenging and divisive year, of what the city and the entire Bay Area has historically offered the world: a source of belonging, acceptance, inclusion, and love. 2017, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, was debut of the Heart Above San Francisco. It is a good year to bring the event back!
The Heart is a production of Antenna Theater, a 501c3 nonprofit, operating from Marin County for the past 40 years. We thank them for this offering of LOVE!
