Are you intrigued about the life of a sailor? Do you love traditional sailing ships? Is the ocean calling you?
If so, join us on brigantine Matthew Turner for a three day skills building experience for ages 14 and up.
Call of the Sea’s three day Tall Ship Skills Workshop will introduce you to the skills required to crew on a traditionally rigged ship. Participants will climb aloft, learn how to safely handle the lines used to control the sails, practice the most essential knots, join the professional crew to sail the ship and practice safety maneuvers such as Man Overboard!
Navigation and voyage planning will be covered and essential communication and teamwork skills will practiced in the course of daily activities which will be a mix of short dockside training sessions and long sails on San Francisco Bay, one of the most challenging inland bodies of water for sailing in the world!
