“Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.”
When Robert Frost wrote “Fire and Ice” in 1920, he could hardly have imagined that his native Bay Area would be under apocalyptic skies just a century later, and suffering from a pandemic not seen since that time. Nor could we have imagined just a few months ago that so many of our neighbors and friends would have suffered loss of life, health, livelihood, and/or property due to the confluence of fire and an icy, invisible killer virus. Once again, we express our sympathies with those who have been hit hard, and hope that this message finds you carrying on as well as you can during these stressful times.
We at Call of the Sea find solace in the fresh breezes on the Bay. Our creative crew have managed to navigate the complicated currents of Covid protocols and bad air, and designed safe, new programs that are contributing in a small way to recovery from calamities that seem to never end.
We are especially proud of the following programs; and we encourage you to participate this season. There are only a few weeks left for fair Fall winds–and you will not want to miss an opportunity to come on board yourself or support someone in need of a healthy alternative to hunkering down indoors.
