Teen sailing voyage aboard Brigantine Matthew Turner

A multi-day sail in the coastal waters of Northern California is an adventure to remember, where youth learn the traditional art form of tall ship sailing, making new friends as they become a team.  Passengers are Voyage Crew, sharing in the vital tasks of sailing a ship on the ocean.

They will participate in the daily watch schedule, assisting with operation of  the vessel as we make our way out into the Pacific Ocean.  Climbing aloft and learning basic navigation, as well as an intro to Celestial navigation are highlights of the seamanship training.

During the voyage, they will also become a community scientist, exploring basic oceanography led by our educators, with daily water sampling which is recorded and shared on a water quality dashboard, supporting public health data.

A great experience for those who love the ocean and would like to learn more about sailing and developing a basic foundation of marine sciences.

For ages 13-17.  No experience necessary
