As we look out across San Francisco Bay, we see more than just water—we see an expansive classroom where lives are transformed. Through our on-the-water programs, we bring science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) to life for local primary and secondary students. They experience the power of teamwork, and leadership on the water, while also learning about nautical history, environmental science and ocean conservation. They leave with resilience they need to thrive on land.
Every year, 5000+ students have access to the SF Bay and the ocean on board our floating classrooms. We are proud that more than 50% of the students in our programs come from traditionally underserved communities, including many bright young minds from Oakland, Richmond, Marin City, the Canal District in San Rafael, San Francisco and the list goes on and on. Your leadership has been vital to our success and our ability to get more young people out on the water. This year, Call of the Sea is Spreading Our Sails, building stronger partnerships and going more places. We need your help to get there!

Plus, Matthew Turner will be present — a sight you won’t want to miss! The gala will be hosted by the Emmy-award winning KPIX sportscaster Vern Glenn, and will feature Admiral Eric C. Jones, Superintendent of Cal Poly Maritime and former Captain of USCGC Eagle, “America’s Tall Ship.”
