What a gorgeous Day it was!
Many thanks to Edward King for the Instagram video.
Saturday May 24, 2025, Brigantine Matthew Turner participated in the Master Mariners Benevolent Association’s annual regatta on San Francisco Bay.
The sailing was magnificent with typical SF Bay breezes of 15-25 knots, along with an ebb tide chop; a challenge for smaller boats, but easy for Matthew Turner! Passengers enjoyed the sail and the spectacle.

The 132′ brigantine participates in the “Parade” division so the smaller boats can compete with similar vessels. There were some adventures among the fleet of racers, with one intrepid singlehanded sailor going overboard, being rescued by another competitor, delivered back to his own ship and finishing the race!
